Itzli does not send anyone out to draw samples and does not rent you a network of phlebotomists. It is the software that schedules the visit, keeps the evidence and the consent, watches temperature and time, and takes payment for you.
The enemy is the clock, not the heat
The sample-handling reference (CLSI GP44) is blunt: for most tests the problem is how long the sample takes to arrive, not whether it travelled cold. And a single-zone cooler kept good and cold damages certain samples: chill a chemistry tube and you get falsely high potassium.
That is why the container is handled by zones: every tube goes where it belongs, and the system watches both things — the zone and the time elapsed since the draw.
It starts running at the moment of collection, not when the sample reaches the laboratory. That is the number that actually matters.
One container with separate zones, each with its own reading. The sample that must not be chilled does not get chilled.
The readings upload to the API with their own token, and stay attached to that visit’s order.
If a zone goes out of range or the time runs over, it is recorded on the order. Nobody finds out afterwards.
What a visit looks like
All of it from the technician’s phone, even on a bad signal.
It gets scheduled
The visit sits in the calendar with its address, its time slot and the tests to be drawn. The technician sees the day’s route.
It gets documented
A photo of the sealed material before it is opened, and of the sample once drawn. That is the evidence backing up that it was done properly.
It gets signed
The consent is signed on the phone screen, at the patient’s home, and stays with the order.
It gets paid
Payment for the visit goes into your cash drawer like any other, and its receipt comes out.
Two things worth clearing up
There is no “home collection certification” in Mexico
We went looking for it and it does not exist. If someone is selling you one, ask who issues it. What does exist is your obligation as a laboratory under NOM-007-SSA3-2011 (the Mexican health standard for clinical laboratories), and there section 5.1.6 — the sanitary officer of record — is the real anchor.
