Frequently asked questions

What people ask us, answered straight

Including the answers that do us no favours. If what you came for is not here, ask it in the form at the bottom and we will add it.

Analyzers

Three today: the Mindray BC-20s (hematology) and the Mindray BS-240 (clinical chemistry), both over HL7 on TCP; and the Spinreact U120s (urinalysis), over a serial port on USB. Any other instrument, not yet. We would rather say so than let you find out after signing.

Everything else in the system works the same: orders, worklist, signed validation, release, cash drawer, inventory. The only difference is that results from that instrument would still be entered by hand. Tell us which instrument you have: the list of what we connect next is decided by what laboratories report to us.

A Windows PC in the laboratory and the right cable: network for the Mindray instruments, USB for the Spinreact. From the panel you download an installer that already carries your configuration inside, you double-click it, and that is it. It installs as a service, so it starts on its own every time the machine is powered on.

Nothing is lost. The bridge writes every result to an on-disk queue before attempting to upload it, and uploads it when the connection returns. Anything that definitively fails lands in an incident tray for review — it is never silently discarded.

By the folio, the order number. If you entered the order’s folio on the analyzer — by scanning the label or typing it — the result lands in that order by itself. It accepts the full folio such as OL-000123 or just the number. Anything that does not match goes to an unassigned-results tray for you to route by hand.

Migration and getting started

We do, at no cost. The importer reads a spreadsheet with up to five sheets linked by the test code: Tests, Parameters, Ranges, Prices and Containers. If all you have is a CSV with the names of your tests, that works too — it is treated as the Tests sheet and the rest is filled in later.

No. We load your catalog before you start, you run 30 days of trial on your real operation, and you decide afterwards. And if your cash drawer does not balance within 60 days, you do not pay.

It depends where they live. If they are in spreadsheets or PDFs, they can be loaded as attachments. If they sit inside another vendor’s database, it depends on that vendor handing it over — worth asking for it before you move.

No. Itzli runs on phone, tablet and browser with the same account, with nothing to install. The one thing you do need is a Windows PC if you are going to connect analyzers, because that is where the bridge lives.

Compliance and data

No, and no software vendor can promise you that. Certification and compliance belong to the laboratory, not to the system. What Itzli does is record the facts an inspection will ask you to demonstrate: who validated, under which professional license it was released, who received the result, and what was corrected.

No. Itzli records the signer’s credential and stamps it on the report, including their name and professional license number exactly as they stood that day. That is not a cryptographic advanced electronic signature over the file and we do not call it one. If your laboratory needs an advanced electronic signature in the strict legal sense, Itzli does not provide it today.

The connection is encrypted with TLS, the database is encrypted at rest, and on top of that the fields identifying the patient are stored encrypted field by field. There is versioned consent, an append-only audit log that cannot be altered, permissions resolved on the server by laboratory and by role, and a minimum five-year retention period.

Only someone whose professional license number is verified on their credential inside the system. Holding the role permission is not enough: with no verified license, the release button does not appear. It is a deliberately inconvenient restriction.

It is corrected and the full history remains: what it said before, what it says now, who changed it and why. The correction is marked in the header of the corrected report, not as a loose banner.

No. It keeps the patient’s tests and their result history, but it does not hold clinical notes, diagnoses or progress records. That is a product decision, not a pending item on a roadmap.

Pricing

Three plans at Founding Lab pricing for the first laboratories: Mi consultorio at MXN $990 a month (list $1,290), Mi laboratorio at $1,690 (list $2,190) and Varias sucursales at $2,690 (list $3,290). Networks of six or more sites are quoted, from around $5,500 a month.

Your rate is frozen for as long as you stay with us. The list price is the one shown struck through next to yours, so you know from the start what the discount is being applied to.

You are notified and the excess is billed in packages. The service and the cash drawer are never cut off: shutting down a laboratory’s operation mid-morning is not a collections policy, it is an accident.

Additional branches, additional users, WhatsApp message packages, tax stamps, extra storage and the volume excess. All in packages. Analyzer reading, the app and the QR-verifiable PDF are included from the entry plan.

The marketplace

No, unless you decide so. Nothing is published by default: you flip the switch test by test and branch by branch. Your full price list is never exposed.

It is the youngest part of Itzli and today it has one laboratory operating on it. Do not buy the system for the patients it will bring you: buy it because it puts your operation in order. The comparison tool is a door that opens whenever you want it to, not a promise of volume.

Nothing. Quoting, comparing, booking and keeping a digital health record is free for the patient, always. The product that is charged for is the laboratory’s system.
